    Dr. Michael Banbury

    Director

    Dr. Michael Banbury is the Director and Co-founder of FirstRock Group. He is a Medical Doctor with a specialty in Primary Care and Diabetology. Dr. Banbury is a graduate of the University of the West Indies School of Medicine where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (M.B.B.S) and the Wharton Business School where his focus was in Distressed Asset Investing. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (F.R.S.P.H). Dr. Banbury serves at the Board level of various Private and Public sector entities and brings a wealth of management and business development experience. He is also a Director of Dolla Financial Services Limitedand the Chairman of FirstRock Private Equity Limited and Medical Associates Hospital.

    Ian Kelly

    Chairman

    Ian Kelly is the Group Chief Financial Officer for the Derrimon Group and Divisional Director for Sampars. Ian is also the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary for Caribbean Flavours and Fragrances Limited and Woodcats International Limited. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds both Bachelor’s and Master of Science degrees in Accounting from The University of the West Indies. Ian also completed the Executive Development Program at Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on several Boards which include FirstRock Private Equity Limited, TyDixon Primary School, Reggae Marathon, FosRich Group of Companies Limited, Caribbean Flavours and Fragrances.

    Sheldon Powe

    Founder & Director

    Sheldon Powe is a serial entrepreneur with many successful businesses to his credit. As the Founder of Optimum Distributors, he oversees all aspects of the business and works with the management team to achieve growth in a complex recessionary environment. He also holds the position of CEO and Director of Markets and Commercialisation at Innovate 10x. As the former Group Chief Information Officer of Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB), Sheldon has over two decades in his position as Head of the Technology Unit, creating and maintaining a highly professional, customer-oriented and innovative IT function. Sheldon holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the West Indies, Mona and a Masters degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida. His expertise is supported by various certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Scrum Master and ITIL V certified.

    Christopher Yeung

    Director

    Christopher P. Yeung is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of FirstRock Private Equity Limited (FRPE). In this role, he provides executive leadership over the portfolio companies’ holdings and is responsible for the achievement of the organization’s strategic goals and objectives, as identified by the Board of Directors. Mr. Yeung has over 12 years of experience in finance and banking, specializing in debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, financial advisory, financial analysis, treasury, and asset management. He holds a BSc in Financial Economics from Centre College, USA, and an MBA (distinction) in Banking andFinance from the University of West Indies, Jamaica. He also completed the Executive Education Program in Private Equity at Harvard Business School. He currently serves as a director for My Ocean Limited and FirstRockPrivate Equity Limited.

    Kevin Fearon’s

    Director

    Kevin Fearon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (Bpharm) from the University of Technology (UTech) and MSc. In International Management from the University of Liverpool. He is a Pharmacist with over 15 years of experience in the Medical/ Pharmaceutical industry in the Caribbean working with several distributors and Multinational pharmaceutical companies across Central America and the Caribbean. He is an active blood donor, has a passion for improving patients’ lives through improved access to quality Healthcare and is a sports enthusiast.

    Ryan Reid

    Director

    Ryan Reid is the Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of the FirstRock Group. Mr. Reid has over fourteen years of experience in the real estate and financial sectors. He is also the director and principal of Growth Tech Limited (a local technology company), Innovative systems, Bumble Bee Digital Agency Limited, Dream Entertainment Limited, Xodus Carnival Company, Century 21 Properties, Yes Iyah Limited, Dolla Financial Services, Ultra Financier and Medical Associates Hospital Limited and Optimum Distributors.

    He has also held directorships on various Government of Jamaica Boards. He is currently the Chairman of the National Education Trust and Director of the Water Resources Authority appointed by the Government of Jamaica. Ryan is also a Justice of the Peace for the parish of St Andrew.

    Craige Powe

    Craig Powe is a dynamic professional with a rich tapestry of experiences spanning both corporate and volunteer sectors. His journey is a testament to his dedication, and passion for making a positive impact in various spheres of life.

    Craig’s career trajectory began with internships at JMMB and Optimum Trading Ltd. These early experiences laid the foundation for his future endeavors, instilling in him a strong work ethic and technical acumen. His professional journey continued with roles at Sylvan Family Care and Adtelligent, where he demonstrated his strategic prowess as an Operational Manager and later as CEO. His tenure at Adtelligent has been marked by significant achievements, including securing grants, negotiating contracts, and spearheading campaigns in collaboration with esteemed organizations such as IDB, BOJ, and Statin. Craig continues to be the visionary CEO of Adtelligent Limited, a pioneering digital marketing agency founded in 2018. Under his leadership, Adtelligent has emerged as a formidable player in Jamaica’s corporate landscape, catering to esteemed clients such as GraceKennedy, the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ), and the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ), among others. Craig’s strategic vision has propelled Adtelligent to international acclaim, with a strategic partnership in Peru facilitating expansion into the Latin American market, including Panama, Colombia, Peru, and the Dominican Republic.

    Craig’s foray into the Latin American region not only expanded Adtelligent’s global footprint but also revealed untapped opportunities for trade between Jamaica and its regional counterparts. He exported to Barbados, Trinidad, Italy, France, United States, Canada and the UK all before looking at the Latin American Region. Inspired by this realization, Craig spearheaded the “Keys to LATAM” initiative, aimed at raising awareness of business opportunities and fostering increased trade relations. Through conferences and targeted events, such as the recent staging in September 2023, Craig envisions a robust platform for presidents of private sector organizations from Latin American countries to convene in Jamaica, fostering meaningful dialogue and forging lucrative partnerships. Moreover, Craig’s dedication to promoting trade extends beyond grand conferences, with plans for smaller-scale events hosted throughout the year in Latin American countries. These initiatives serve as catalysts for economic growth and diplomatic engagement, embodying Craig’s commitment to leveraging his expertise for the betterment of both local and international communities.

    Craig’s leadership as CEO of Adtelligent Limited, coupled with his dedicated efforts in spearheading the “Keys to LATAM” initiative, have captured the attention of the political directorate, including Prime Minister Andrew Holness. As a testament to his impactful contributions, Craig has been shortlisted for the prestigious 2023 Prime Minister’s National Youth Awards for Excellence.
